Update

No baby yet.

My sister labored hard all night. Things slowed down this morning, as they sometimes do. By mid-morning the midwives had gone home for a nap.

My Mom called me with an update a few hours ago. My sister and BIL had gone for a walk hoping to get things going again. At one point my sister had a strong contraction in the middle of a field. As my other sister looked on, my laboring sister leaned on her husband. With their arms around each other they slowly, gently rocked their way through the contraction. In the middle of a sunlit field surrounded by wildflowers, monarch butterflies and meadow grasses.

That is the image I carry in my mind as I slowly wind my way through this long day.

Sounds like a Hannah baby - that was a long one for me. She used to ask me to tell her about how she didn't want to leave me.
